April 13, 1950-October 28, 2016
With family at his side Rod passed away peacefully with grace and dignity in his 67th year. Cared for and survived by his loving wife Vickie of Sault Ste. Marie ON, his beloved children Jeff (Anita) of Calgary AB, Jodi (Shannon) of Blind River ON, and his cherished step children Luc Lapierre (Trisha) and Danielle Lapierre (Chris) of Southern ON. Rod will be missed by his numerous grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. Also left to mourn are Rod’s siblings, Russell (Jane) of Edmonton AB, Brenda of Sault Ste. Marie ON, Deb (Pierre) of Blind River ON, Barb (Bruce) of Sudbury ON, John (Rhea) of Blind River ON, and Nancy (Rick) of Blind River ON. Predeceased by his brother The Late Austin, Rod leaves his sister in law Rosina, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was also a brother in law to many.
Rod loved and cared deeply for his family often saying, “Dear Lord make our family strong with grace and harmony”. He will be missed by those who loved him.
A visitation will be held at Menard Funeral Home in Blind River ON, on Wednesday November 2, 2016 from 2pm to 4pm, followed by a Remembrance service honouring Rod’s life. Donations to a charity of your choice are greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River ON www.menardfh.com
