Obituary for Barry Allen Brechin

BRECHIN, Barry Allan
October 28, 1947 - November 8, 2017
We regret to announce the sudden and tragic passing of our dad and husband Barry. Husband to Pam for 12 years. Son of the late Christina and James Brechin and brother to the late William. Father to Sharon (Norm), Dustin (Shannon). Grandfather to Jazmine, Brandon, Hannah and Emma. Also companion to his late dog Joe (Dad loved dogs). Special friend to Jody Bruzas who was always down the street from Dad trying to out-sell his Christmas trees and pumpkins. Dad was a very well known man. He worked in the car industry for over thirty years and loved to just get in his vehicle and drive. If there was a car show nearby Dad was at it, country music cranked. Showing off whatever vehicle he owned at the time. It didn't matter what time of day we called to talk to Dad, Pam would answer the phone because Dad was driving somewhere. He must have loved going to the ministry because every other month he sold one vehicle and bought another; he got tired of driving the same vehicle for too long. Dad would give you the shirt off his back. If you needed something and he didn't have it he would find it. He would laugh with you or cry with you. We would like to thank the OPP, paramedics and first responders as well as all witnesses that helped at the scene. Thank you to OPP Officer Matt Penny who has been there for endless phone calls; providing us with information. A special thank you to Sudbury Regional Hospital for the wonderful care and compassion towards Pam while recovering from her injuries and dealing with the loss of her husband and best friend. Thanks also to the Ontario Finnish Rest Home and Board of Directors and CBI Home Healthcare for all the love and support provided to our family during this difficult time. Friends may call at the Beggs Funeral Home, Thessalon on Friday April 27, 2018 from 11am to 1pm for a celebration of Barry’s life. Donations can be made to the Diabetes Society or the Humane Society.
