Obituary for Yolande Jacqueline MacIver

Yolande Jacqueline MacIver
MacIver, Yolande Jacqueline (nee Gagnon) March 4, 1936 – August 30, 2018
It is with great sorrow that Glen “Bud” MacIver announces the passing of his beloved wife and best friend of 62 years.
She was the dearly loved mother of Glenna (Claude), Wayne, Danny (Kristine) and Don who sadly predeceased her on August 24, 2017.
She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Jean-Pierre (Theresa), Stephanie (Jason), Tyler, Monik, Koty (Brenna) and great-grandchildren Taylor and Jordan.
Yolande was predeceased by her parents Rita and Eddy Gagnon. She will be dearly missed by her brother Marcel Gagnon. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Yolande was a beautiful and kind woman who demonstrated great grace and quiet strength. Her volunteer work in Blind River included the Hospital Auxiliary and the Catholic Women’s League. With her love of music and wonderful voice, Yolande directed and sang in the St. James the Greater Church Choir for many years. She was also a member of the Community Choir. One of her favourite places to be was at the family cottage where she would sit on the dock and read for long stretches of time. She also loved to travel and took many memorable trips with her devoted husband as well as with her friends.
She passed peacefully at the North Shore Health Network in Blind River. The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff for their outstanding care.
A Funeral Mass in memory of Yolande will be held at 11am on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. James the Greater Church in Blind River. A luncheon will be served by the CWL after the service.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the North Shore Health Network Foundation, Blind River site are gratefully accepted.
