FOLZ, Laurence (Larry) Eugene Joseph

Laurence (Larry) Eugene Joseph Folz, age 71, of Blind River, Ontario passed away on September 23, 2017. He was born on September 8, 1946 to the late Roy and Evelyn Folz.

Larry was a big-hearted man who loved his family and was kind to everyone he met. He was an avid joke teller and loved to make people laugh. He loved being outdoors and one with nature, and particularly enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Larry is survived by his step-father Raymond Gatien, his wife Julia (and her three children Jason, Jabari and Amanda), his brothers Willard (Theresa) of Sault Ste. Marie, Jim (Catherine) of Algoma Mills and Ernie Gatien of Blind River, his children Patrick (Cindy) of Ottawa and Lynne (Martin Poirier) of Victoria, B.C., as well as his five grandchildren, Daniel (17), Nicolas (14), Bianca (11), Simone (6) and Renaud (4). Larry is also fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Donald (Patsy) of Blind River.

Friends may call at the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. James the Greater Parish in Blind River on Saturday, October 14 at 11:00 am with interment to follow at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. James the Greater Parish, or to the Companions of the Cross www.companionscross.org would be appreciated.
