Timmermans, Helen “Doreen”
Doreen passed away peacefully in her 91st year on March 7, 2018 at Golden Birches Terrace in Blind River. She was predeceased by her husband Morris Richard “Dick” Timmermans. She will be lovingly missed by her children Don (Janine), Diane (Cliff) Spratt and Derek (Lisa). Always remembered by her grandchildren Bruce (France), Steven (Dianna), Laurie (Dave), Michael (Pam), Jeffery (Amanda), Scott (Kelsey) and Brian and her great grandchildren Kyle, David, Noah, Cody, Alex, Ryan, Alexie, Avery, Travis and Ramsay. She leaves behind her brother Glen “Bud” (Yolande) MacIver and sister Joanne (the late Paul) Panabaker. She was predeceased by her siblings Verna, Bernard and Donna. Doreen leaves numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Doreen was an avid gardener and spent hours growing flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed curling well into her eighties. She loved going to her cottage on Lake Matinenda which was a very special place to her and her husband Dick. She also enjoyed clogging and playing bridge with her friends.
A celebration of Doreen’s life will be held at St. Saviour’s Anglican Church in Blind River on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm. The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Birches for their kindness and care. If desired, donations could be made to St. Saviours Anglican Church or The Golden Birches Terrace.
